Undeveloped and Uncompromising luxury
Santanyí is a small Mallorcan town in the south east of the island, a 35-minute drive from Palma and a 30-minute drive from the airport. Here you'll find the traditional and the contemporary, side by side: old Mallorcan cafes and shops sit next to modern interior design boutiques and art galleries, such as the Gemma Leys Gallery, which shows exhibitions of local and international artists. Santanyí has a population of just over 10,000 and is found close to Ses Salines and Campos, two other Suite D.O. locations. One of the many natural parks in the area is the Mondragó Natural Park, found in Santanyí itself. Spread over 785 hectares, it comprises the S'Amador beach, the sand dunes and spectacular cliffs. The Cabrera National Park is a short ferry journey away, and is made up of 19 small islands covering 1,318 hectares on land. Santanyí is close to some of the best beaches in Mallorca, explains Rafael Danés, CEO of the company and born in the island. "You can visit those during the day and have a choice of excellent restaurants on your doorstep to have dinner at night."

Natural Parkland
Almost 40% of Mallorca is protected countryside with 49 designated natural areas, including Es Trenc-Salobrar Natural Area, Cabrera Island Natural Park, Cala Modrago and the area from s'Almunia to Cap de ses Salines, which all are situated in the south east of Mallorca.
Es Trenc-Salobrar Natural Area: is situated in the municipality of Campos.Comprising 1,500 hectares, the area includes Es Trenc beach, locally recognised as one of the best on the island, with 7 miles of beach with shallow water, a restaurant, a bar, plus a supply of beach beds and parasols. The area also includes the dunes parallel with the coast and salt tanks and cultivated areas nearby. 10 minutes away.

Unlike other beaches in Majorca, the beaches on the south east are hidden away from mass tourism and some of them are completely virgin. Some of them are only accessible by boat, while others by care or bike:

Mallorca is a beautiful and diverse island which is very popular amongst the UK holiday makers, not only for golf, but also for cycling, horse riding, tennis, diving, fishing, surfing, windsurfing, or just relaxing.
The climate makes Mallorca ideal for golfers, and although it does get chillier during the winter months it is still suitable for golf. There are 11 recognised Golf courses in Mallorca and many centres and academies that specialise in the teaching of Golf. You find 2 of them in the south east close to the suites.
